Teen Snowshoe Sparks Series

Is your teen in 7th grade or higher and passionate about the outdoors? Are they eager to explore new natural areas across the county? They can connect with fellow Oswego County teens who share their love for nature by joining the Teen Snowshoe Sparks series! These engaging and educational sessions will take place on the fourth Saturday of each month from January to March: February 22nd, and March 22nd.

Participants will not only learn the art of snowshoeing and refine their skills, but they will also gain knowledge about winter first aid and survival techniques. The group will meet from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with lunch included. Teens will have the chance to snowshoe through Winona State Forest, Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center, and Great Bear Recreation Area.

Teen Snowshoe Sparks Series is a collaboration between Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County 4-H Program and Oswego County Prevention Coalition. There is no registration fee for this series because of this collaboration. Snowshoes will be provided for participants to use during this program. Participants need to come dressed to be outdoors with weather-proof attire and footwear.

3rd ANNUAL DRESS GIVEAWAY
In early January 2019, 23-year-old Lucy Reff was about to start her final semester at
Upstate Medical University, where she was training as a respiratory therapist. She was
looking forward to several exciting milestones ahead. She was engaged to her
long-time boyfriend, Skyler, and they were in the midst of planning their wedding. She
had just chosen her wedding dress. Four days later, on January 12, 2019, Lucy passed
away and became an organ donor. Just prior to surgery at 2:50 am on January 15,
2019, Lucy was escorted to the elevator through one of the hospital’s first honor walks.
At 9:00 am, the family had learned that Lucy was able to donate her heart, liver, and
both kidneys, saving the lives of four people. We Love Lucy and you will too!
Join us for a Dress Giveaway in Lucy’s Honor. Come say “Reff” to The Dress”
We have hundreds of new-tags on dresses for this event. Wedding gowns, prom dresses, military ball
dresses, pageant dresses etc…
